The University of Piraeus (UniPi) was founded as “School of Industrial Studies” in 1938 and today it is consisted of 4 Schools and 10 Departments, covering a wide range of study fields related to Management, Economics, Informatics, International Relations etc., while it employs over 250 faculty members and administrative personnel and serves over 12.000 students.A major target of the UniPi’s strategy is to elevate the Institution to a highly ranked modern internationalized University and a respectful international focal point in research, teaching and training covering the field of all departments. The UniPi, through the scientific fields it covers, presents extensive research activity, high participation in European projects, international networks and collaborations with the public and private sector. As far as the Erasmus Program is concerned, UniPi participates in the Program since its beginning in 1987. In 2007 the University of Piraeus was awarded the Erasmus Extended University Charter (31704-ERP-1-2014-1-GR-EPPKA3-ECHE) which allows the University’s participation in any program action.
UNIMED - Mediterranean Universities Union, founded in 1991, is an association of Universities from Mediterranean basin countries (www.uni-med.net). It counts 164 associated Universities coming from 27 countries on both shores of the Mediterranean. UNIMED’s aim is to develop university research and education in the Euro-Mediterranean area in order to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation. The image that best represents our association is that of a University without Walls.
UNIMED carries out the following activities in favour of the associated Universities: Promotion of the international dimension of universities; Encouraging participation of its members in international projects; Planning and fundraising activities: information on call for papers and opportunities offered by international organisations and the European Commission, partnership search, technical assistance, planning, dissemination; Promoting mobility in the Euro-Mediterranean region; Creation of thematic Subnetworks to foster scientific cooperation within specific fields; Organisation of meetings, seminars and roundtables both at national and international level; Training for academic and administrative staff of Universities
St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo is established in 1963. It is spiritual successor to Tarnovo Literary School f.1371
At present the University of Veliko Tarnovo is a major Bulgarian institution of higher learning and the first full-fledged Bulgarian University outside the country’s present capital specializing in a wide range of fully accredited degree programs in the Languages and Philological Sciences; Education, Teacher training; Business Studies, Management Science; Social Sciences; Communication and Information Sciences; Law, Art and Design. It has an established reputation as a national and international center for study and research.The University of Veliko Tarnovo undertook a thorough curriculum renewal process that was carried out within the framework of the European Higher Education Area and aimed at meeting the state requirements for the academic degrees “Bachelor”, “Master” and “PhD student”. In this respect, the University has also introduced the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and European Diploma Supplement.
Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) is a public institution of higher education and the largest technical university in the north-eastern Poland. It was established in 1949 and has thus a long tradition of educating engineers and young scientists. The mission of the university is high-quality education of students and young scientists, conducting scientific research at the highest international level and commercialisation of research results.
Nearly 680 academic teachers are employed at BUT and about 1000 of administrative staff. There are about 8.5 thousand students at 6 faculties (Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Management, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Architecture), including 350 international students. Bialystok University of Technology offers bachelor’s (3-year bachelor’s degree and 3.5- year engineering degree) and master’s (1.5 or 2-year master’s degree) studies. BUT proposes 26 first degree courses and 19 second degree courses. It also has an extensive offer of postgraduate studies. Dual degree programs are conducted with the largest employers in the region. In cooperation with the economic environment the university implements innovative technical solutions that affect the innovativeness of the economy.
NUP is a private University located in Paphos Cyprus and has been founded in 2010. NUP is one of the leading private universities in Cyprus, with students from all around the world. At present it comprises five Schools (Economics, Administration and Computer Science, Law, Health Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Land and Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities), serving undergraduate and postgraduate studies in more than twenty Bachelor and Master Degrees.
